On this week's show is Nephi Cole, the Director of Government Relations-State Affairs for the National Shooting Sports Foundation. I invited Nephi on to discuss the Pittman Robertson Act because he’s quite passionate about the outdoors and he’s done a lot of math on the impact of competitive shooting dollars and how those help fund public lands. And we did talk about that but we talked about so much more from the Importance of SHOT Show and the NSSF, how friendly legislation is drafted, proposed and passed on the state level and why we should all pay attention.
You can expect more adjacent topics to the Shooting Sports like this in future episodes of The 3-Gun Show.
Have you ever liked something so much that you just had to tell the world? That's what we have going on the podcast this week as Adam Riser gives us a rundown of the PCS League's 2-Gun Championship held last month.
Adam reached out to discuss the match on the show after he got the opportunity to witness the unique combination of Practical (Tactical) and Competition skills tested in the league.
Adam also runs down scoring, how to train for the league matches and the schedule for 2022.
Kyle Litzie is back on the 3-Gun Show podcast this week to discuss his dominating 2021 season, setting shooting goals and his new company, Unrivaled Technologies.
Follow Kyle & his company, Unrivaled Technologies:
In episode 300 I proposed several changes to the Big 3 Division's gear requirements to further separate the divisions which have gotten very similar over the years and to lower the barrier of entry into the sport.
This week's guest Aaron Hayes was energized by the proposal and reached out to discuss and challenge some of the changes. Listen in as we hash out the details and react to several pieces of audience feedback.
The match was tight in all divisions at the 2021 Fort Benning Multigun Challenge and it made for a really fun 3-Gun Show Fantasy League match!
Listen in to find out the match winners and the fantasy game winners.
Whether you are going to a club match or a major match, most 3-Gun events happen out in the middle of nowhere or at least a good distance from the next town and you have obligations throughout the day such as shooting and resetting so it is important to have everything you need to be successful.
These 7 things will ensure that you are comfortable so you can put all of your focus on your stage plan.
Here are the companies that are supporting our game and the prizes that they are donating:
Due to popular demand we are running a second 3-Gun Fantasy League Game, this time focused on the legendary Fort Benning Multigun Challenge!
Special guest Adam Maxwell is on the podcast this week to help run down the handicaps and the competitors that are attending. The historical stats for this match go back several years and many competitors have a history of performing. But there are always those dark horses that can pull off a great match and upset the game.
Players of the Fantasy 3-Gun League are eligible to win several prizes from our returning partners Vortex Optics, IWI and LAG Tactical. Plus more prizes from our new partner Hunters HD Gold! There are several other companies that have indicated they would like to participate as well so stay tuned for more details.

Finishing up on the Q&A we started two episodes ago, Dave answers your pressing questions from Instagram. After that we discuss some of the major feedback that we got on the proposed New 3-Gun Gear Changes for the Big-3 divisions. Whether you agree or disagree, find out what your fellow shooters think in this episode of The 3-Gun Show.
So after years of success in Tac Ops or Limited, you're thinking of switching to Open Division and you don't know where to start. Wouldn't it be great if you had an Open Champion that you could get advice from?
That's exactly where Forest Lathrop is right now so we enlisted multi-Champion Scott Greene to give all of us the insider information on what it really takes to be successful in Open Division.
After three years and two IPSC World Shoots in the Division, Scott Greene has some things figured out and we learn them all in this episode of The 3-Gun Show.
This week's podcast is an Audience Q&A! I figured after last week's recommendation of new divisions and the great feedback that I got on the podcast format that I'd do another solo podcast and this time answer your questions. So I took to Instagram to round up some topics and picked several from the few dozen I received.
Listen in, I know you'll like it!
I am going to run down Limited, Tac-Ops and Open divisions and outline how we can bring more people to matches while once again making 3-Gun the cutting edge of shooting technology development.
As with everything on the 3-Gun Show podcast, this is all about the community here so I want to hear what you have to say. Go to 3gunshow.com/300 and leave a comment with your thoughts and opinions.

This week's special guest is Donnie Flowe, proprietor of Stage Zero Shooting Supply, Match Director of the Microtech Pro-Am and much more!
Match Director of the NRL Hunter match "Buffalo Bill's Revenge," Collin Fossen, is on the podcast this week to discuss innovation in the precision shooting sports, NRL's incredibly popular new NRL Hunter matches and what to expect for anyone that wants to try one out.
Adam Maxwell is on the show this week to recant the tale of the 2021 IWI 3 Man, 3 Gun at Topton. A team match that has inspired so many other team matches across the country.
We discuss the ins and outs of travel to the range, what to expect from the Topton match and how to prepare for it. Plus we talk about how to choose your teammates and what the special duties of a multigun match teammate actually include.
New this week is a little round table with Forest Lathrop, Chadd Torres and your host, Dave Hartman, where we discuss the 2021 Gadsden Shotgun Championship. We cover what went right, what went wrong and give each other a hard time for every little mistake as you'd only expect good friends to do.
Chadd and I have made a few trips out to the Gadsden Shooting Center in Iberia, Missouri to shoot this springtime favorite but this was Forest's first tango with the match. Find out what we thought of the stages, shaking the rust off of our gear and how we managed to find enough ammo to shoot in April of 2021.
Also, check out this match video: https://youtu.be/po9z1hXECzE
Friend of the show, Chad Francis is on the podcast and we discuss the high price of ammo and... Well pretty much the high price of everything else.
You may know Chad as the Match Director for the Gadsden Shotgun Championship and Generation III Gun, two great matches that take place at Chad's range in Iberia, MO. Chad has a long career in 3-Gun and after raising a daughter in the shooting sports, he understands a thing or two about minding where you spend your entertainment dollars.
Adam Maxwell is back on the show to give us an update on Open Division. A lot has happened since we did the "Breaking Open" podcast and it appears that Tac-Ops may no longer be the division stacked with the most talent...
With the proliferation of red-dot pistols and box-fed shotguns, like that from Dissident Arms, Open Division has gotten a renewed energy over the last few years. With growth at popular matches going from 12 shooters to upwards of 50 or more, the division is certainly hot. But is it now the premier division? Adam and I discuss the players, the gear and the why.
Don't forget to come shoot with us at the Jeff Kirkwold memorial 3-Gun! Sign up on Practiscore.
What do you think? Is Tac-Ops no longer the most competitive division?
